The Sugar Rush Society
Sugar is everywhere
Sugar = + profit for someone at the top of a hierarchy = - health for you (baked in with short-term pleasure). Sugar = slavery. Sugar = Mcdonalds’ + News + Cigarettes + Alcohol + numbing, endless scroll on social media apps (and much more).
Sugar has subsumed our world, increasingly so with the spiralling ascension of tech.
Sugar tantalizes and indulges our senses, spiking us with an endorphin bolt near our foreheads, that just makes us want to keep taking another hit - like a young adult Harry high on witchery.
We're all addicts - but the worst part about it all?
We don't even realize we're addicts. Sugar is good at suspending logical thought processes. Sugar emotion overrides rationality. And when we're all addicts - the addiction becomes so normalized it's no longer questioned.
We become a planet that's spellbound.
Humans avoid pain = seek pleasure. This process has been corrupted by giving humans pseudo-pleasure that's harmful in the long term via sugar.
All self-improvement comes down to understanding this phenomenon and navigating yourself away from the sugar.
Sugar is bad. But the mind says a little sugar is good. The brain does need some sugar for healthy performance. Idea = complex sugars with fibre = better than sweets. Sugars post workout/post-high satiety meal = healthier.
The same principle applies to all sugar products. Instead of waking up in the morning and taking the sugar by zapping the phone - doing some meaningful stuff (satiety) before giving yourself the sugar = healthier.
Before going on the internet - doing all your work = healthier. Before eating something, doing something to deserve the food = healthier.
On the reverse, a sugar-primary approach to life = accumulates dissatisfaction and bad neural patterns.
We can't eliminate all sugars from our lives and nor should we, but we can certainly manage how we consume them.
What are your thoughts?
No sugar, please.

Again: YES YES and YES!
As everything is linked, wether we're aware of it or not, we can make small steps in EVERY domain of our lives.
• STOPPING (or decreasing) television, especially reality shows and series.
(I'm lucky as I don't have TV)
• MOVING MORE; at least 1' every half hour.
• As stated in the article: decreasing smartphone use. Putting it in SILENT MODE, 80% of the time.
(again I'm lucky as I don't have a smartphone).
• Eating less and only BIO food (better for the planet too).
• Listening to nice music.
• Seeing where we can give a better exemple in our environment.
• Physically respectfully touching our friends and all those open to it.
And thus : BE (much more) HAPPY :-)
